This story begins with two lost people—both trying to escape their past. Skylar was on her way to the beach when she wrecked her car in the middle of nowhere and was rescued by Ford. She was very hesitant to trust him at first, but neither could deny their instant attraction for one another. Ford had given up everything to help his father after a devastating loss in the family. Sky and Ford agree to one night with “no strings attached.” Both needing a reprieve.. Ford needed someone to help him forget all the painful memories his small town holds and Sky needed someone to help her forget her cheating ex. Once they agreed to this one night, Ford says “I can already tell its goin’ to be a night you ain’t never goin’ to forget.” It definitely was a night that neither would forget. While fighting their growing feelings, thinking they’re too damaged to have anything to offer the other, will they find love? Between Fords ex causing problems and his drug addict mother coming back into his life, can they find their happily ever after?

If you loved the Mitchell Family Series, you’re bound to be entranced by The Kin Series as well. Jennifer Foors’ writing is captivating and scorching hot. Her method of story-telling is what yanks at the reader’s heart. I love the southern boy that Ford is. The characters are everyday people; in my opinion, this makes the story realistic. This is a must read!
