Alistair Ingram is finally the man he wants to be, with the woman he wants to be with. No longer ruled by his manager, producer, agent or fans’ desires, he and Bethany “Black Betty” Stavars have settled into his LA mansion and have started a life together. Everything is as it should be…until he gets the call that Bethany has been brutally attacked in their home.
Alistair can barely stand to see Bethany’s bruised and battered body, but that’s not the worst of her injuries. She regains consciousness thinking she’s still married to her ex-husband—the man responsible for putting her in the hospital in the first place—and has no recollection of being with Alistair.
Unable to coax her memory into giving her any recollection of the past ten years of her life, Bethany struggles to comprehend how she could’ve ended up on the other side of the country—California instead of Florida—and living with superstar actor, Alistair Ingram. Even worse, how had she become a dominatrix at a Vegas men’s’ club?
Lucky for her, the past few months have been detailed in black and white newsprint in every gossip magazine she can get her hands on.
With their relationship hanging in the balance, there’s only one thing Alistair can do. Jog her memory the best way he knows how. In bed.
Kelli Maine Interview:
- When you write, do you know where the story is headed exactly or do the characters surprise you?
When I write I have an idea of the beginning, middle, end and at least one twist/reveal along the way, but I give myself and my characters enough slack in the rope to either find their way back and start over, hang themselves, or reach the end and tie the plot up in a pretty bow. It’s usually a surprise to me too, but if you know your characters well enough, they’ll take you were the story should go based on the actions that are right for them.
- What inspired you to write your first book?
My first book (never published) was written in 2007. It was a new adult (which wasn’t a thing then) paranormal romance titled Taken By Seven. It had Merrick and Rachael from my Give & Take series in it. I kept them, only older, and one scene—the kidnapping—and wrote Taken in 2012. Taken By Seven was inspired by all the paranormal romances I read back then. Probably the Sookie Stackhouse books and Twilight the most. No vampires or werewolves though. Only demons and demon hunters.
- What’s your favorite book of all time?
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon! The entire series – can’t pick just one Jamie and Claire book.

William and Sarah were best friends growing up in the mountains of Colorado. As they grew up, they realized there was a lot more than friendship between them, it was more like love. Forever seemed like a guarantee, a no brainer; everyone wants to spend the rest of their life with their best friend. Like all things in life, unexpected circumstances completely derailed their plans.
Sarah and her family packed up and moved from Colorado to California. Thousands of miles separated Sarah and Will, but they still promised each other forever. What happens when temptation causes the mind to stray? Is their love enough to overshadow the distance?
Margaret is more than happy to take Will’s mind off of Sarah. Enough said.. Trust me, you won’t like Margaret or her conniving father. Sarah finds company with Adley. Although Will and Sarah both have companions to help pass the time, neither can seem to completely let go.
I’m going to be 100% honest- At first, I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this book or not with it being set in the 1940’s, but I was hooked within a few chapters. I was captivated with the relationship that developed between Will and Sarah. They were so young, but so sure of the love they shared. When Sarah and her family moved to California, my heart broke. Distance was an issue for Sarah and Will. There was no cell phone, no internet or cheap flight to easily keep them in contact with one another.
When Sarah and Adley started to develop feelings for one another, I was excited but torn. I had mixed emotions because I felt like I was betraying Will. Actually, to be quite honest, I was mad at Will because of the relationship he was developing with Margaret. Couldn’t he see what a deceptive person she was? If he couldn’t be with Sarah, he deserved much better than Margaret. I loved the style of writing the author utilized. Alternating points of view made me feel like I got to know each of the characters a little better.
The end of this book was a complete emotional roller coaster. The emotion that Jacelyn Rye was able to evoke is unreal. I seriously think I cried through the last half of the book. There are so many twists and turns you don’t see coming. Each characters fate is up in the air. I am torn because I love Will and Adley, how can I choose? How can Sarah choose? I’m ready for the next installment of the Fate’s Path series. I need to know where these characters will end up and who they’ll end up with. Loved this read!

Sheltered? That doesn’t even begin to cover it. Chase Taylor has been sheltered from all things not related to church including technology, fashion and music. Most of the time, Chase felt like a stranger in her own home, suffocating, playing the role of an innocent and obedient daughter. Her parents were oblivious to her love of music and her remarkable voice. Her first time cutting loose and performing turns out to be a night she’ll never forget. Not only does she kill it on stage, but she meets an amazing guy, who will eventually steal her heart.
One night with Avery McGuire doesn’t seem to be enough, but that’s all they have, until he shows up on her doorstep. A few stolen hours getting to know each other over dinner and a picnic during school hours is enough to make Chase fall in love.
“Love? People don’t really fall in love this fast do they? The idea of true love or epic romance never seemed real to me;”
Will one week with Avery be enough to ruin her for every other guy in her future?
Chase breaks free of her sheltered life and goes to live with her best friend, Vic. After moving to L.A., Chase worked odd jobs trying to break into the music scene. Little did she know that agreeing to work one odd job with Vic would reunite her with a blast from the past and give her the opportunity of a lifetime.
Vengeful Honor is one of the hottest rock bands on the music scene and Chase gets to work with them. Working with an awesome rock band can only mean good things, right? Hot guys, including one very sexy guy named Jesse and a chance to do what she loves. Wrong. Avery is the lead singer of Vengeful Honor and he now has a serious girlfriend.
Will their love have been enough to reunite them? Will she ever feel butterflies again? Or will she find love with Avery’s best friend, Jesse?
I was honored to receive this book as an ARC. This being the author’s first book was a complete shock to me. This story was so impeccably written; captivating and heart wrenching all at the same time. I found myself laughing out loud.. Several times! The characters were very well developed. I am a sucker for rockers and bad boys in books. Wild Chase definitely had both. In the beginning of the story, I was sad for Chase and her sheltered life. When she finally escaped that life, I was elated. It broke my heart simultaneously because her parents couldn’t see what an amazing daughter they had.
I loved Chase’s description: purple hair and tattoos everywhere. She seemed to be the epitome of every rockers dream. When she finally comes into contact with Avery again, I was so excited. Of course, Avery having a girlfriend throws a damper on everything. Their journey back to each other was one full of ups and downs, but it was a journey that I loved reading about.
It’s definitely worth your time to get this book. I am anxiously awaiting book 2. I’m sure it will be amazing, just like the first.
