Wild Chase by L.A. Bressett
Sheltered? That doesn’t even begin to cover it. Chase Taylor has been sheltered from all things not related to church including technology, fashion and music. Most of the time, Chase felt like a stranger in her own home, suffocating, playing the role of an innocent and obedient daughter. Her parents were oblivious to her love of music and her remarkable voice. Her first time cutting loose and performing turns out to be a night she’ll never forget. Not only does she kill it on stage, but she meets an amazing guy, who will eventually steal her heart.
One night with Avery McGuire doesn’t seem to be enough, but that’s all they have, until he shows up on her doorstep. A few stolen hours getting to know each other over dinner and a picnic during school hours is enough to make Chase fall in love.
“Love? People don’t really fall in love this fast do they? The idea of true love or epic romance never seemed real to me;”
Will one week with Avery be enough to ruin her for every other guy in her future?
Chase breaks free of her sheltered life and goes to live with her best friend, Vic. After moving to L.A., Chase worked odd jobs trying to break into the music scene. Little did she know that agreeing to work one odd job with Vic would reunite her with a blast from the past and give her the opportunity of a lifetime.
Vengeful Honor is one of the hottest rock bands on the music scene and Chase gets to work with them. Working with an awesome rock band can only mean good things, right? Hot guys, including one very sexy guy named Jesse and a chance to do what she loves. Wrong. Avery is the lead singer of Vengeful Honor and he now has a serious girlfriend.
Will their love have been enough to reunite them? Will she ever feel butterflies again? Or will she find love with Avery’s best friend, Jesse?
I was honored to receive this book as an ARC. This being the author’s first book was a complete shock to me. This story was so impeccably written; captivating and heart wrenching all at the same time. I found myself laughing out loud.. Several times! The characters were very well developed. I am a sucker for rockers and bad boys in books. Wild Chase definitely had both. In the beginning of the story, I was sad for Chase and her sheltered life. When she finally escaped that life, I was elated. It broke my heart simultaneously because her parents couldn’t see what an amazing daughter they had.
I loved Chase’s description: purple hair and tattoos everywhere. She seemed to be the epitome of every rockers dream. When she finally comes into contact with Avery again, I was so excited. Of course, Avery having a girlfriend throws a damper on everything. Their journey back to each other was one full of ups and downs, but it was a journey that I loved reading about.
It’s definitely worth your time to get this book. I am anxiously awaiting book 2. I’m sure it will be amazing, just like the first.
